So you’re using a PSP, and perhaps you have an ample enough amount of storage on the device for videos you’d like to put on it. Unfortunately, you’ll find that the PSP itself only supports three video formats- MPEG-4, MP4 and AVI- and you may find videos you’d like to transfer to your PSP incompatible because it isn’t in one of those formats.
Learn how to convert video to PSP Format
Fortunately for you, there’s a solution. You will want to download a separate program to convert video to PSP. There are a multitude of programs available to convert a given video into the correct format to be moved to your PSP, and we’ll be going over how to convert video to PSP in this article.
Of the programs available, we’ll be going over five, in no particular order, starting with…
The Tipard PSP Video Converter, boasts an impressive set of features. In addition to changing video format, it allows an array of video editing features and even includes support for Nvidia’s CUDA technology (exclusive to Nvidia graphics cards) and multi-core CPUs, for the fastest conversion possible. As a bonus, it can even take audio tracks from videos and convert them to mp3 format- great for the music lover on the go.
Joboshare PSP Video Converter costs slightly more than Tipard but offers a distinct set of features. It adds the ability to download videos directly from YouTube or Yahoo! Videos, which means a streamlined process to get videos from the internet, through your computer and onto your PSP. Joboshare’s converter even offers a tool that lets you create a slide show of photos to put onto your PSP and enables simple video editing features.
Bigasoft PSP Video Converter offers yet another alternative program to convert video to PSP. At the same price of Joboshare’s, it includes CUDA and mutli-core processor support as well as basic video editing features to go with the conversion formats. If speed is your primary concern, consider this or Tipard, since they should be able to convert your videos the fastest, provided your computer supports the performance-boosting features they offer.
Last but not least is 3herosoft Video Converter! This one is the cheapest out of its peers and is therefore slightly more basic (and lacks features such as CUDA), but still offers a solid, easy-to-use video conversion experience. It also supports Mac OS, though Mac users have yet another option…
Don’t worry, Mac users, the world hasn’t forgotten about you. In addition to 3herosoft, Leawo has created a video converter for your PSP that’ll allow you to convert video to PSP easily, though at the more expensive price of $30 a year or $40 for life, with additional features.
Overall, those are your best options. Before you start using any of these programs, be sure that you have a copy of the video file on your hard drive already and can identify its location, generally in the Videos or Downloads folder.
Aside from that, these programs are all very simple to use. Good luck!
